I have been drawing and painting most of my life. In 1995 I went back to school and graduated in 1998 with a BA in fine art and a BS in environmental science, taking 27 credit hours per semester.

I had always drawn and painted very realistic things, so taking studio art classes helped me to experiment with many different styles and techniques and prepared me for showing my work. I've had 4 shared shows, 3 one-person shows, won various local shows, and have been chairperson of a local area festival art show for the last 10 yrs.

My canvas paintings are usually large, done in oils... with deep, rich colours. The subjects range from "macro" plantlife and endanged species of wildlife to impressionist style landscapes and portraits.

I was indroduced to PSP approx. a year ago and have been "addicted" ever since! I love combining nature's beauty through digital photography with a wee bit of fantasy through handpainting. Most of the pieces are first photographed in the local areas around the Blue Ridge Parkway by Dr.L.D.W., a PhD biologist, then "transformed" once I get them into my PSP program.

I love to be given a "project" and to make someone's thoughts become a reality through my paints.

I also dabble in poetry and write for a local magazine published in the Blue Ridge Mountain area of Virginia.
