and.....ALANA IS GOING TO CHINA !!!!!!

One of my pieces "The Guardian" has been chosen to be included in an environment exhibit in Beijing, China.

* Common Ground will premier at the Haun Tie Art Museum in the Huan Tie art district, Beijing, China. The opening reception will be on November 5th, 2008 and will remain on exhibit through November 15th, 2008.
* The Beijing premier will also feature several filmmakers, composers, and performing artists along with their creative works focused on the environment.
* The Chinese Series has been curated by a team led by Duan Jia, Professor at the Beijing Film Academy, and an award winning digital artist, film director and animator. 20 Chinese artists are currently being selected to represent the "Host" country for the premier of the Common Ground Collection in 2008.
* The Huan Tie Art Museum in conjunction with the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA) in Beijing will oversee the production of the exhibition prints to be shown in Beijing. The curator of the Huan Tie Museum will oversee a tour of this exhibition to museums and universities throughout China in 2009.

one of the most exciting things about having THIS particular piece chosen is that i used my daughter, Alana, in it (and no, she WAS NOT born with a birds nest coming out of her head!...it's just ONE of the hazards of having me as your mother!)

i have been busy doing some new pieces that i call the "Earth" series. i use a combination of different techniques on these, each one is different...so write me if you need more details. i begin with NASA photographs of different parts of the Earth and combine them with either parts of stock photos or handpainted "parts" that i do using pixels instead of paint. these pieces print out to be 24"x 36". if you look down the right side of the page to my info section...there is a photo of me holding one. i can do "custom" ones if you'd like to send me a clear photo of yourself and info on what country/area you would like to be "part" of. if you'd like more info on purchasing the full sized prints, please let me know.

those that know me....know that i am a music lover and this spills into a love of guitars as well. although i don't play...it doesn't stop me from loving the "beauty" of them. the look, the sound, the feel. i have a guitar section in my gallery that shows some of the guitars i have done. there is also a section on CD cover work, tshirt design, and graphics. if you'd like to request a specific cover/graphic/design...please ask. i LOVE requests!
